The formula for tonight is pretty simple. Macs win, the series ends and they get a little extra rest this weekend. Weeks win, and they play for their lives again tomorrow.
All the stats from the regular season go out the window, so I'll just list the schedule:
(Best of 5 - Macs lead 2-0)
February 25 - Macs win 2-1 (OT) in Halifax February 27 - Macs win 3-2 in Halifax Tonight in Pictou County
Tomorrow in Pictou County (if nec) Sunday in Halifax (if nec)

Weeks get outshot 12-4 in the first period. Colby Brown continues to do everything in his power to give his team a chance as he stopped 11 of 12 shots.
The only one that got by him was scored by Daniel Walters after Walters intercepted a pass from Ben Manos (a rare miscue by the Weeks Captain) in the slot, and fired a quick shot past Brown glove side.
None of the 4 shots for the Weeks were particularly dangerous, but as we have seen in this series, as long as the Weeks keep it close, they have a chance.

Weeks getting their chances, but the Halifax McDonalds have been just strong enough to stay ahead in this series.
Only one goal in the second, and it comes when Aaron Chipp fires from the left wing faceoff circle and finds the tiniest of empty spaces above the short-side shoulder of Colby Brown.
Macs lead 2-0 with 20 minutes left - possibly in the Weeks season.

The Weeks Majors season comes to an end as they fall 4-0 to the Halifax McDonalds tonight at the Pictou County Wellness Centre.
This Weeks team, to be honest, surpassed my expectations this season. They ended up with 10 wins in a 38 game schedule. Considering they had just 3 returning players, and several first year U18 eligible players, before the season started I had them winning 7 or 8 games. But they came together and played a hard-working brand of hockey that was easy to respect, easy to enjoy as a fan, and hard as anything to play against.
They continued that in this series, as they were one bounce away from winning game 1 (anything can happen in an OT). They were right in it through Game 2. And tonight, they battled hard but the Macs have just too much firepower.
To the players whose U18 careers have come to an end - Ben Manos, Kieran Sears, Sam Maddison, Brady Croft, and Colby Brown - good luck in your future endeavors. To the players who will be back next year - I am excited about the core that you will bring to this team, and expect you to be right in the thick of things near the top of the standings again.
To the Macs - good luck in the next round, and for as far as you end up going this season. You have a VERY good hockey team, and I have said it a few times this year, I wouldn't be surprised to see you represent the region up in Sydney next month, and quite possibly bring the region another title.
