One more game seven left tonight in Manitoba.
We could also get our first participant at the Centennial Cup as Calgary looks to sweep Whitecourt and give Whitecourt the misfortune of an all time 0-8 record (only 4 of those being my fault) in the AJHL finals as the Whitecourt Wolverines. The franchise has roots back to the Fort Saskatchewan Traders who were quite successful in the last 70's and 80's before moving to St. Albert in 2007 and finally to Whitecourt in 2012. They are currently in a bit of a pickle as the current owners want to move the team to Devon but the previous owner had a right of first refusal should the current owners try to relocate the team within 5 years after the sale and plans to act on it in order to keep the team in Whitecourt.
Powassan has gone on probably the most remarkable playoff run in some time. 6-0 record in overtime. 6-1 record on the road including 4-0 on the road in the division finals. This is the kind of playoff run that gets NHL GM's fired in 2.5 years because they lean into the magic (See Bergevin, Mark). Sometimes you keep rolling 6's.

Three weekends left before the big dance in Oakville.
Calgary has their ticket after sweeping Whitecourt in the AJHL final. They have become the first team since Grande Prairie in 2009 to win the AJHL other than Brooks or Spruce Grove, so they've got that going for them.
Flin Flon suffered their first loss of the post season and it was a doozy. They look to bounce back tonight and take the series to Melfort tied at 1.
Winkler has been putting on a defensive clinic in the playoffs. Their 2-1 win in game 1, was their 4th 2-1 win out of their last 5 wins. Maybe they are offensively challenge because they only scored more than 3 goals once in 6 games in their Semi Final win over Virden.
Sioux Lookout has jumped out to a 2-0 lead on the road, heading home to 2 games this weekend. Kam River has yet to lose on the road so this series is far from over, unless of course, it's over by Sunday night.
Greater Sudbury is doing a good job keeping the games from extending past regulation where Powassan is unbeatable. Series is tied at 1 heading back to Powassan for games 3 and 4.
Collingwood continues their dominance of the OJHL getting out front 1-0 after a game 1 win last night. They look to keep home ice and head to Trenton up 2-0.
Navan sent the 10's of home fans home happy with a 3-2 overtime win in game 1. The series shifts back to Smith's Falls for game 2 Sunday night.
The QJHL is having a hard job dispelling the rumours that it is an all gas no brakes league. Longueuil has let it known that they weren't rolling over winning games 3 and 4 by a combined 15-3 score to tie the series.
Summerside and Miramichi finally get underway tonight in what is hopefully an all time classic series.

Melfort 1 game away from SWEEPING Flin Flon in surely a major upset in the SJHL Finals. 11 point gap between the 2 in the regular season, and Flin Flon 8-0 prior to finals. But Melfort won Game 3 in 2OT after stealing the first 2 in Flin Flon. Can punch their Centennial Cup ticket tonight on home ice.

Could be the easiest path for an MHL team to win a title in Centennial Cup history.

There is definitely a non-zero chance that none of the 10 teams at the Centennial Cup are regular season champions. God only knows when the last time that has happened, even in the 13 team regional tournament era plus the 14th host team.
Currently only Navan in the CCHL is leading their final series. Whitecourt and Kam River have already lost in the final. Terrebonne and Blind River fell in the Semi Finals. The aforementioned Flin Flon is down 3-0, Steinbach is down 3-0 as well, Collingwood is tied 2-2, and Summerside finds themselves down 2-1.
