After 56 days. After 386 games. The road to Oakville has been paved and the 10 teams are set.
Across those 386 games, there were 76 series played. 2 best of 3's, 3 best of 5's, 71 best of 7's.
There were 11 winner take all games. One of those being a game 3 in the Quebec Preliminary Round, and 10 games 7.
In those 10 games 7, home teams went 6-4.
There was one 3-1 comeback in the NOJHL First Round where Blind River avoided a colossal upset at the hands of Espanola.
Humboldt and Weyburn played a 7 gamer where only the home team won. Powassan and Timmins played a bizarro 7 gamer where only the road team won.
Both OCN and Humboldt played two series to the maximum, winning the first game 7 on home ice and losing the second game 7 on the road.
The SIJHL, CCHL, and MHL did not see a game 7 this year. The QJHL was the only league to have a game 7 in the league final.
The SIJHL never had a series go beyond 5 games. 5 of the 7 series ended in sweeps including the final. The AJHL and MJHL also saw the final end in a sweep.
Only Collingwood and Navan completed the double of winning both the regular season and playoffs. They look for a treble next week at nationals.
A few days of rest before the big dance. It looks to be anyone's tournament. Thanks for following along. I'll keep posting in this thread during the tournament. There is a full schedule and standings at the same link as the Road to the Centennial Cup spreadsheet. It's on the tab titled Centennial Cup. Will save some clicking around on the horrific Hockey Canada website.
