I am a big Caps fan, but this was not a case of bumping into a goalie, he was trying to hurt him. If a 4th liner gets 5 games, then there will be goalies run all the time. With the cages, and I have no issue with cages, players no longer need to answer for their actions. The only remediation is suspension, and the suspensions will need to be harsh. That will be the only deterant.

A Junior A league needs to come right out and address situations like this. There are things like fans, supporters, ticket buyers and sponsors that you need to answer to. It shouldn't be left up to three or four people to just decide - "oh - we'll get around to it when we get around to it." As of today, two of the last five league suspensions show "indefinite." One is now going on five weeks, and the other will hit eight days tomorrow. That isn't leadership. It's ineptness and indecisiveness and a lack of leadership. What do these people think they're there for? If they don't realize it - it's to make these tough decisions. What are they being paid for if they can't run the day to day operation of the league? Please get rid of this disgrace they have serving as the Director of Discipline. Put somebody in place with a bit of common sense who will not be swayed by which team(s) are involved. I'm a bit wary of saying things where credibility and sources come into play because of a recent incident on the QMJHL forum (where I was backed up by no less than Peter Simon a day later by the way) - but I will say it. I've heard from a few MHL GM's and coaches over the past few weeks - and not one single person is happy with Troy Howatt - not one! I fully hope and expect he will be replaced at the league AGM. He has shown time and time again that he is incapable of doing the job in a fair and timely manner.

I was told from a really good source Friday morning that they were told they are set to announce the suspension on Saturday, but here we are Sunday and still nothing. It’s an absolute joke!!!

Ok, unrelated but IF the stories are true that Justin David wasn't as hurt as the team led on and they held a private practice at a private location, should the suspension be reduced seeing as Justin ''rose from the dead'' and played in THAT series?? Should there be a team fine or a suspension for whomever knew this wasn't as bad as being portrayed ? It's unfortunate because the MHL hockey community gathered around to show support in the weeks that led after the scary injury, seemingly for nothing when he was allegedly on the ice and did return in that series... things that make you go hmmmmmmm. Summerside ethics are always questioned - perhaps this is a discussion that is just too sensitive to talk about - but I dont mind it being a discussion. Especially after seeing him flop every game getting hit this series and grabbing his head to draw a penalty. I will say they did have a practice out of the city, but I know 💯 Justin David did not participate in it and it was all over social media that the practice was happening so people in that community could go watch. I was told - again - by what I considered a couple of very credible sources that "the practice was moved to another rink so nobody would know Justin David was there" - and that "pics were posted to Tik Tok of David all smiles and hamming it up with his teammates at the practice and later removed." I jumped to the conclusion that it meant that he was out on the ice with the team - but that's on me. When he only missed one game - it kind of made the practice moot point.
