Summerside heads to ''The Den'' to try to force a Game 7 on Saturday night, back home in Summerside!
Summerside left yesterday to stay the night in Miramichi last night to eliminate any distractions heading into this pivotal, do or die game in hopes they can take this series back to Summerside, Saturday night.
I would fully suspect that Niko Boudreau gets the nod tonight... why wouldn't you? The team seems to play harder in front of Niko and have that much more confidence.
It will certainly be a SOLD OUT crowd in Miramichi tonight in which Miramichi can clinch this one on home ice and book their ticket to the Centennial Cup!
Summerside NEEDS to stay disciplined and out of the crap after the whistle.. MIR is deadly at home on the PP and really are deadly at home period, you can't give them ANY advantages and really limit their opportunities.... they are going to get their looks, but if you're Summerside, you have to ''bend but not break''.
What this game means is evident and goes without saying but the Wolves have to be gripping their sticks tighter tonight and will want this one to end tonight, they certainly would not want to go back to PEI for Game 7 Saturday night after leading the series 3-1. I fully expect MIR to be ready to go from the start, will they be afraid to let it slip away or afraid to make a mistake? It's the MHL Finals, the pressure is squarely on MIR tonight to close this one out.
Whether this ends tonight or not, both teams should be proud of themselves and both for completely different reasons... For Summerside, you've had the pressure all year, they have had the target on their backs and whether they win or not, they were expected to be in the position TO win, and they are, they made the MHL finals...
If you're MIR, you were DOUBTED all year, you weren't supposed to be in this position... you were underdogs in EVERY series.... you beat West Kent, Edmunston and if you can beat Summerside.. Is this the best MHL underdog story in the history of the MHL? (I think so)..... David (Fitting that Justin David has played a role in a storyline in almost all series) taking down all the Goliaths.... will this be the final chapter in this story tonight? Or will this be going to Game 7?
Lets hope that the boys on the ice decide the outcome and not the refs, this will be a barn burner, lets see if Summerside can put out the fire and extend this to Saturday night.
Go Caps Go!
